Peru
Peru is a very diverse country, ecologically, biologically and culturally. There are 56 indigenous languages still in existence – Quechua and Aymara in the mountains, and dozens in the jungle, with Spanish also spoken very widely. Peru’s three main zones, the desert coast, the majestic Andes and their cloud-forest foothills descending into lush Amazon rainforest provide endless opportunities for a holiday itinerary. You can sandboard on the dunes near Nasca, explore less visited ruins of the Inca and other cultures and watch thousands of Macaws gathering at a jungle salt lick at dawn.
