Description:
Florencio and his family live in an adobe house on the beautiful shores of Lake Piuray, near Chinchero. They have built two bright and rustic rooms, a single and a twin, where visitors can sleep and experience life high in the Andes. Expect lots of potatoes and bring food to share and probably to cook for yourself too unless you are happy with just potatoes. His family weaves and spins and will show you how to do this and happily sell you their products (no obligation). This family is very Quechua so communication may be difficult and they are quite shy with tourists but it certainly will be an authentic local experience. The house is a day hike via the beautiful Inka ruins of Huchuy Qosqo to Lamay in the Sacred Valley (between Urubamba and Calca). Florencio can guide you there but due to his low level of Spanish dont expect to find out much more than the route and what you can see!
