Ken Maynard spent 2-4 weeks with Elder Nunez.
Description
Elder (Hatcha) guided us on two extended treks through the Salkantay and Vilcabamba Range. He, along with the local arierro, Eusebio, provided a unique and spiritual experience for our family of six. With our own camping equipment and their expertise in cooking and camp organization, and pack animals, the treks went smooth and without incident. Safety and ecological concerns were of utmost importance. We felt included in decisions and a part of their family. They took excellent care of us as well as allowed us our own family experience. Fresh, well balanced food (by shopping together at the Cusco market)made these treks outstanding. All this for a bargain price. We also spent many hours in Ganso's and ate several delicious meals.Highly recommended.
Best bits: great trekking guide and cook
Worst bits: none

Comments: Does Elder still guide treks? Does Gonso's still serve food?

Sommer Whitmarsh spent a whole day with Elder Nunez.
Description
I visited Ganzo's and also participated in a San Pedro ceremony and Mescal (sweat lodge) with Elder as a facilitator.
Best bits: The hike he took us on for the Sand Pedro experience was so beautiful and perfect.
Worst bits: He didn't do a good job on prepping me for the experience as far as giving me instructions. But I was also friends with another gringa who was good friends with him and she filled me in on what I needed to do/know to prepare.
