Description:

Leonardo is the ambitious manager of a Lima-owned horse riding ranch complex in this pleasant town near Arequipa. Sabandia seems to have two or three booming tourist resorts in contrast to the quiet village, so perhaps visiting Rancho Aventura is not a super-local experience. Nonetheless Leonardo has been a ranchero here for years.

Robert Adams spent 2-5 hours with Senor Leonardo, Rancho Aventura.

Description

We did a 3hr horseriding tour. This was suprisingly adventurous, given neither of us had ridden before, and hence good fun! The horses were placid and entirely obedient to Leonardo, but not to us... the tour goes through pleasant terraced farmland and up into the dusty foothills of the El Misti volcano, with good views all round to snow capped peaks.

Best bits: Reliable horses.

Worst bits: 3hrs was quite long for novice riders.
