Kirsten Koza spent 2-4 weeks with Saul Ceron.
Description17 Days of Mountain Biking with 9 women: From Lima, to the Nasca Lines, Arequipa, Misti Volcano, Colca Canyon, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Sacred valley of the Incas, Santa Maria Jungle, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, through cloud forests and coca plantations.
Best bits: We visited rural villages and even a school where tourists never go. Saul was incredibly flexible--when we happened upon an unexpected festival in the Colca Canyon, our trip was altered (even where we were spending the night) so we could take our time dancing in a bullring with the locals of Huambo. Saul and his support team were always dynamic and fun! He had expert local guides join us in each area so the individual guides changed with each region we travelled through.
Worst bits: The "worst bits" were beyond Saul's control and are all part of the adventure of travel: earthquake, stomach trouble, altitude sickness, mountain fog, bug bites... Saul was brilliant through it all. I'm glad he was there to hand me my barf bag and coax my ego into the support vehicle!

Lucy Shorey spent 2-4 weeks with Saul Ceron.
Description10 women spent 17 days mountaing biking around Peru and visiting local attractions along the way... La Catedral, Huacachina, Nasca Lines, Machu Pichu, Lake Titicaca and many more.
Best bits: Saul went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. He was flexible when the group decided to change plans at the last minute. Such was the case when we decended into the Colca Canyon on our mountain bikes and stumbled upon a local festival. We opted to partake in the festivities... dancing with the locals, the band and the matador in the bullring which meant Saul had to cancel our accomodations in the jungle that evening and arrange for a motel nearby. Our bikes were always clean and in great repair thanks to Saul and his staff. He was very consciencious in finding and rotating thru local guides to support the local economy and even brought us to a school for underprivileged children where we played and made crafts and distributed much needed school supplies. This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip! Any chance he got, Saul made sure we sampled local flavours by offering fruit and other goodies he purchased at markets and vendors along the way to make sure we experienced Peru to its fullest. He was also very cognizant in taking us to the restaurants that offered the best and most typical Peruvian meals which was an added bonus.
Worst bits: The "worse bits" were the ones our guides could not control... stomach sickness, colds, mountain bike crashes which resulted in injury however Saul was very caring and made sure we were provided with the medical attention we needed and had our biked repaired for the next days' adventure.

Comments: Saul and Peru Adventure Tours showed their commitment to social responsibility by taking us to a local school (it was quite the bike ride to get there) and allowing us to connect with the students and donate school supplies. Peru Adventure Tours made a significant donation to the school and it is my understanding that they do this regularly.

Comments: Saul and crew took care of us above and beyond the norm. He is very knowledgeable and obviously cares deeply about his country and the well-being of Peruvians, especially those who do not have easy access to education or other
opportunities that many of us travellers take for granted.

Leap Winners spent 2 hours or less with Saul Ceron.
DescriptionThis is not a typical review – it is an opportunity to identify Saul as a winner of Leap Local’s competition to reward good local guides and services. The best bits and worse bits are a snippet from our judges’ comments. More details about the competition are on our site.
Best bits: Clearly loved by his travellers. His personalisation of trips and care for travellers are great. Also loved the way trips were flexible to take advantage of stumbling upon a local festival. Clearly supports local producers and culture, and tries to use . Very professional and reliable, well organised.
Worst bits: Part of Peru Adventure Tours (Saul runs) so is more on the pricey side, but probably worth it!
