Inappropriate / Inaccurate? Daniel Gordillo

Description:

Daniel is a great guide with unparalleled knowledge of Galapagos Islands and the flora and fauna.

He is very friendly and enthusiastic, a guide for over 20 years, born and bred on the islands.

Daniel is a proficient snorkeller, and knew all the best locations to spot penguins, sharks, turtles, iguanas, etc, as well as land-based wildlife.

We were with him for a week, and he planned each day's activities meticulously. He did a great talk with a slideshow and photo summary at the end of the week.

(**Daniel Gordillo is a free-lance Naturalist Guide level III)

Description

Spent a week with Daniel around the Galapagos Islands, visiting six or seven islands. He showed us the (very different) flora and fauna on each island, and had great knowledge.

He also took us snorkelling every day, and we saw incredible sights in the water.

Best bits: The whole week-long trip

Description

I spent a week cruising the Galapagos and Daniel was the guide for each island visit. Two visits per day. He successfully managed a group of 16 people of varying ages, and physical abilities on/off zodiacs, and guided us safely around.

I learned an enormous amount about the Galapagos from Daniel whose knowledge of the islands is first class. He answered any and all questions without hesitation.

In addition he ensured those that desired swimming and snorkelling as part of the trip were catered for, whilst those who didn't were still occupied and safe whilst relaxing on the beach.

I had a wonderful experience in the Galapagos; made more enjoyable by having a guide who knows about the importance of customer service - and demonstrated that he could provide it.

Best bits: Presentation of before/after information for each visit. Having a guide with exceptional knowledge of the Galapagos and its wildlife. Feeling safe and secure both on land and water (I am not a swimmer). Receiving excellent customer service each and every day - nothing was too much trouble.
Worst bits: There were not any. One of the best life experiences.

Daniel was extremely professional and competent and went out of his way to ensure that we were all comfortable. There were 15 of us on the tour and everyone was able to participate in the various activities offered according to their ability. He was extremely knowledgeable about the Islands and the wildlife and answered all our questions with patience and courtesy. He also had a good sense of humor and we all had a wonderful time on the trip.

Description

I spent five days on a tour of the Galapagos with Daniel as guide for an English speaking group. His patience with and care of the group of varying ages was exemplary. He explained everything clearly and with humour.

His reminders about foorwear, hats, water and suntan lotion for each of our ten forays to the various islands showed that his ability to look after his group matched his amazing knowledge about his native islands.

From Lonesome George to the incense trees via Iguanas, Turtles, lava tunnels and the history of the islands he took care to make sure that we stayed safe and enjoyed learnig about this wonderful part of the world.

Daniel is absolutely passionate about the Islands. He has grown up here and is at home on the land as well as in the water. He is incredibly knowledgeable about life on the islands, and enjoys sharing that knowledge. He speaks excellent English and has a wonderful sense of humor.
