Inappropriate / Inaccurate? Mardianes "Anes" Praliestyanto

Description:

Activities available... Various guided tours throughout Java, and Indonesia (trekking, rafting, city tours) - see Anes's website for tour ideas, but note that he is usually willing to tailor any trip to the customer's interest.

How long it takes... Totally up to you, as I said he is all about personalizing trips/tours.

Who it's appropriate for... all ages and abilities.

Details of costs... Different tours have different costs & can be negotiable if willing to make changes ie: do independent meals, rent a smaller car etc.

Anes is now offering a new tour - a Java overland trip for 8 days. Therefore the costs of tours available vary from $33 to $1450 (Java tour) depending on the tour chosen.

Another recommender (Pravit Bisalbutra) said this:
"In July 2011 we visited Surabaya and used Rite Indonesia(Anes)for guided tour. Anes was very energetic, we visited the mud flow in Porong. Then we went to Madakaripura waterfalls. It was wonderful. Then we went to Cemoro Lawang(Bromo Entrance)and checked in to the Hotel Cafe Lava. Next morning we went to Pananjakan view point to see the sunrise and also the fantastic view of Bromo Tengger Semeru National park and Ijen Crater in miles away. Next, passing through the Sand Sea and 250 up the steps or more and covered with ashes, into the peak of Mt. Bromo. Afterward we returned to Surabaya for a city tour.It was a wonderful and memorable trip !!!"

Description

The best guide we have ever had! My husband and I just returned from a fantastic trip with Anez in August. We started in Lovina (Bali, Indonesia) and drove the long drive to Cemoro Lawang (east java Indonesia) to stay overnight and see Mt Bromo at sunrise the next morning. We then drove to Surabaya to catch the train to Yogyakarta.

Anez is such a friendly and charismatic guy who is passionate about showing people his beautiful country. From first contact he was enthusiastic and helpful and great with responding quickly. He was wonderful throughout the entire trip from stopping for snacks and pointing out the most western toilets in remote areas to finding us somewhere that sells beer in east Java during Ramadhan.

He climbed the Mt Bromo crater with us and was filled with great stories and words of encouragement and was always nearby to help get that perfect photo. He is a natural traveller, he really loves what he does and it felt like we were travelling with a friend rather than a guide. We recommend him to everyone, no matter what your style of travel is he will be able to cater an adventure to suit your requirements.

Best bits: Anez's passion for responsible travel.
Worst bits: Saying goodbye in Yogyakarta
