Inappropriate / Inaccurate? Duong

Duong is a tour guide based in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. His friendly smile is the first thing you see when you step into the noise and bustle of the airport arrivals area. That may explain why his nickname is Sunny.

Duong has been trained in tourism, and has been a licenced tour guide for over 4 years.

Anyone who enjoys learning the traditions and history of an area will enjoy their experience with Duong. Each of these tours took a full day, and a day trip of Hanoi can start from $30/person for a group of 5 or 6 persons.

Duong is quick to share his deep knowledge of not just the Hanoi area, but also the many attractions that are within a day's drive of the capital city. He has taken us on temple tours, walking tours of the 36 Streets in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, a bicycle tour of the limestone karsts of Tam Coc, and an overnight stay in the Cuc Phoung National Park where we visited the Primate rescue Center. He even let me sleep among the humans for the night. Duong knows where to go to see great panoramas of the rice fields and karsts, as well as the local restaurants where you can taste why pho has become the favourite dish of the Vietnamese around the world.

Best bits: Cycling through the farmfields and karsts
Worst bits: The fog
