The Leap ConceptTravelling is fun and enriching, but did you ever think about how your tourism affects the communities you visit?Leap Local seeks to connect the traveller to the local, enabling the communities that you visit to benefit from your travels. We provide a system of recommending and reviewing local guides in the area in which you travel, enabling community members and tourists to come together. And this allows you to experience how another country looks, but also how it lives.
Leap allows you to find local guides that will give you a unique insider's look into the places you visit. After your stay, you can use Leap to recommend guides in order to help future travellers. Leap's website already has over a hundred guides and services rates from previous travellers. Through this system, a reputation is built for local guides who often do not have the resources to self-promote; this way travellers can do it for them. Leap Local is dedicated to promoting sustainable travel and bettering the travelling experience on both sides.

This is what one local guide had to say about Leap Local, and Chloe who recommended him: “…thanks so much…it is necessary for people to know about us because they can support all the local guides in their places. I want to say thank you so much to Chloë ,…you are an unforgettable person!” (Chino) Any questions about what we do, or feedback, or want to offer other ways to help? Feel free to contact us...

Despite the enormous amount of money people spend travelling to developing countries, many local communities struggle to earn a living. This is because sometimes as much as 90% of money spent travelling to a lesser developed country comes back to Western countries. Travellers tend to choose the big tour company instead of the local guide because they find it difficult knowing how the judge the abilities of Locals. Yet some of the most beautiful and intriguing places on earth are also inhabited by poorer communities. This is where Leap comes in.
