Jacob’s Well is filled with water from the Trinity Aquifer, which is a major aquifer that stretches across much of northeastern and central Texas. Aside from its lush natural beauty, the swimming area is incredibly refreshing.
The water is a delightful 68°.
You can swim in the well from May to October. You will have to book a reservation though as it can get busy. You’ll enjoy swimming, relaxing, and playing in the water with your family.
Sticking with the outdoor theme, you should also hike to the top of the Old Baldy trail during your time in Wimberley, Texas.
The Old Baldy trail is a strenuous, but easy walking trail that leads you to one of the best viewpoints in the town. A 0.2-mile-out-and-back trail, you’ll easily reach the top of the hike if you’re used to walking upstairs.
The path is clear, well-established, safe, and lined with a solid staircase.
Once you reach the top of the Old Baldy trail, you’ll be greeted by unparalleled, undisturbed views of Wimberley. Most of you will be able to reach the top in just 5 minutes.

With an impressive 490 booths, covering 20 acres of land, and 200 volunteers, Wimberley Market Days are the largest Texas Hill outdoor market and one of the largest in Texas.
Thanks to the sheer size of the market, finding a stall that sells something you like is extremely easy. You’ll easily find anything from homemade jams and snacks to vintage clothing and homemade trinkets.
One of the greatest things about this attraction though is that the money spent goes straight back into other community initiatives. Market days usually feature concession stands, food trucks, and live music too.
If you’re looking for a more adult-themed, relaxing thing to do in Wimberley, you should visit Wimberley Valley Winery. Perfect for couples and keen wine drinkers, this winery offers guests a world-class experience that is both interesting and relaxed.
Fitted with a large tasting room, Wimberley Valley Winery runs daily tours and drinking experiences that aim to teach tourists about how wine is produced, what to look for in terms of flavor, and why the wine industry is so important to the town.
Set in a beautiful part of Wimberley, sipping a wide selection of delicious wines whilst sitting under a large oak tree, and in front of charming water fountains is just as good as it sounds.

This swimming hole is spring-fed by Jacob’s Well. As a result, you can again expect clear, cool, and refreshing waters. All you have to do to enjoy this location is purchase a wristband from the Cypress Falls Lodge.
This helps limit the number of people in the swimming hole, keeping things more relaxed and less busy.
One of the best ways to keep cool during the hot Texas weather is to enjoy a fresh ice cream from The Wooden Spoon. The Wooden Spoon is a local, family-owned ice cream shop that has been running in Wimberley for many years.
The company runs a self-serve frozen yogurt station and a deli shop. You can find The Wooden Spoon right in the heart of Wimberley.
Keeping you nice and cool on a hot Texas Hill Country afternoon, you can choose from a wide range of exciting and unique flavors such as strawberry shortcake, chocolate, and watermelon.

The small town has an array of different restaurants that would fit in well in any culinary scene. One of, if not the best is The Leaning Pear. The Leaning Pear is an eco-friendly, rustic Hill Country restaurant that serves up a wide range of high-quality dishes.
The best thing about the restaurant is how dishes are inspired by the rich Texan landscape that surrounds the town. The Leaning Pear offers a seasonal all-American menu that consists of 100% locally sourced ingredients.
This includes crab cakes, salads, soups, and so much more. If you want to sample the local cuisine, you have to eat here.
One more food-related thing to do in Wimberley is to satisfy your sweet tooth at the Sugar Shack Bakery. If you love all things sweet-related, you are in for a real treat at the Sugar Shack Bakery.
Found in a small shop just off River Road, the Sugar Shack Bakery is a bakery that serves up a delicious collection of sweet treats. The aroma alone of the bakery is enough to make your mouth water.

Opened in 1998, the park features a wide range of entertaining shows, activities, and light presentations that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The main aim of the site is to bring the community together through fun-filled, action-packed events.
The main stage offers regular performances, classes, and camps, whilst the gardens feature life-size board games and a lush open green space.
One of the biggest attractions here is the trail of lights which takes place in the gardens every night.
